Valentyn has spent more than ten years in the Ukrainian banking sector working for the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) as well as leading American commercial banks. His banking career began in 1993 at the NBU where he rose to assume Head Dealer responsibility for foreign exchange and precious metals operations of the central bank. In1997, Valentyn joined The Chase Manahattan Bank in Istanbul as a Client manager for Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and FRY Macedonia. He was involved in the external financing transactions of the state and commercial entities in the Black Sea Region. In 1999, he returned to Kyiv to join Citibank (Ukraine) as Financial Institutions Head and in 2000, Valentyn returned to the NBU as International Department Deputy Director with resposiblity for a wide variety of the central bank external activities, including reserves management. Before joining GML in early 2005, Valentyn spent time as a Managing Director of an asset management company in Kiev.
Born in Kiev, Valentyn graduated from Kiev Polytechnic Institute as a radio engineer in 1994. He received a Master’s degree in Finance from Kiev National Economic University (1997) and Jacksonville University in Florida (2003). A keen sportsman, Valentyn enjoys jogging, skating and mountain skiing along with travelling. He lives with his wife in Kyiv.

Iryna
joined GML in 2001 after completing two diplomas at the Kyiv State
University of Technology and Design.
Since
graduating as an economist, she has been integral in the development
of GML’s Kyiv office. Iryna has been responsible for gathering
information for GML’s periodic Ukraine country studies, for
completing all reports for the Ukrainian authorities and for the
office’s technological development.
Iryna
has also worked on GML’s trade finance business as well as
the work performed by GML Kyiv in support of the bids by major investment
banks for new mandates in the areas of bond financing and privatisation.
In
her spare time, Iryna pursues her interest in interior design and
fashion, in which she also has a diploma from the University of
Kyiv.
