The calculation assumptions and methodologies used by software programs such as GML Trade Finance Analytics™ and CMG:roHIRST™ are widely- or universally-accepted forfaiting and trade finance industry standards, and are described in detail in an authoritative book on the subject which GML recommends, entitled Forfaiting, An Alternative Approach to Export Trade Finance, by Ian Guild and Rhodri Harris, (Woodhead-Faulkner Ltd, Cambridge, England, 1985). These assumptions and methodologies used by the market could be described, by and large, as intuitive. However, a number of particular (and arguably arbitrary) calculation conventions are employed by software programs such as GML Trade Finance Analytics™ and CMG: roHIRST™, and further technical information on these conventions is available from GML upon request. In
summary, GML Trade Finance Analytics™ will produce calculation results
which are almost certain to be identical in all respects to those produced
by any software programs used by any major participants in the forfaiting
and trade finance markets world-wide. |
